Week of October 28th – November 1st :
Dear Members of the MHA PS 65x Community:
Thank you for working so tirelessly the past weeks in every effort to complete and input student assessments and student work. It is my understanding that we received the last of the curriculum components in both ReadyGen and Go Math in the past week and both websites are functioning. This should afford us the curriculum support to meet the needs of our students and student groups. This week common planning will be in room 501 with Ms. DeMichele. Our Quality Review will be conducted on October 29th and 30th. Please feel free to contact Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Presto, Ms. DeMichele or Me if you have any questions or concerns. Teachers: At last week’s professional development with Ursula Koffer, we observed the learning module based on Ms. Rios, 2nd Grade Classroom in which we were able to observe classroom practice while collecting low inference evidence of teacher practice. This week, we will continue our work with coding and sorting our observation evidence. Please make sure to bring the entire Danielson Framework for Teaching (not the cheat sheet) so that we can align our evidence to support the level of performance for components in Domains 2 & 3. Thank you Please be sure to notify both Ms. T. Rivera and Mr. Adler of any students that are on your roster but have not attended school or with more than two (2) days of absences. Additionally, please ensure that you are in possession of the cumulative folder of each child that is present in your classroom. Also, kindly keep the "breakfast in classroom" or "fresh fruit" transporter bags inside your classroom until the cafeteria personnel arrives to your room and picks them up.
We encourage all MHA staff members to check their NYCDOE and MHA email accounts daily for up to date information and deadline notices. Please communicate with both Ms. Presto and Ms. DeMichele as to any additional support you seek with the new curriculum. Administrative class walk-throughs will be continuing into the month of November; as to not interrupt the lesson, please have your lesson plan available for our review.
This week Mr. Rollins, Angel, Craig, Mitch and Ramon will be working with select students in the creation of the fabulous Haunted House in the Auditorium. The select students will be assisting during their lunch time to create a wonderful and memorial event for the MHA Campus Community this October 31st.
Friday is “wear your favorite sport” T-shirt. Please assist your students in creating (coloring, etc.) a sport’s paraphernalia that they can proudly wear on Friday.
Thank you for your continued support.
