Week of  October 21^st – 25^th :   

Dear Members of the MHA PS 65x Community:

             This year the NYCDOE elementary school will be using the STARS system for grade reporting, report cards, etc.  Mr. Harrell from our CFN will schedule PD in our school to help us with the transition and use of the program. 

            Teachers that have Breakfast in the Classroom and Fresh Fruit:  Please do not return or throw out any of the food.  Instead, please send the extra food to Ms. Jackie in the main office (ext 2053).

Reminder:

·         Teachers attending workshops out of the building are to email the grade facilitator, Ms. Gonzalez and Me their lesson plan for the substitute teacher, by 3 p.m. the day before the date of the workshop.  Additionally, log on to Sub Central and order a sub-teacher ASAP.

·         Students will be allowed into the auditorium approximately 7:55 a.m. 

·         Teachers are to meet their students in the auditorium by 8:00 a.m.

·         Please continue to discuss the PBIS matrix in all of the classes (including Enrichment classes) to ensure the safety of all MHA members

·         Technology Prep periods and Music (Mr. Chen) Prep periods will be conducted in the classrooms (Push-In) for the month of October 2013. 

·         Administrative class walk-throughs will continue this month; as to not interrupt the lesson, please have your lesson plan available for our review.  Please refer to the Teacher Resource Page at the MHA website for Lesson Plan Template created with the Common Core and Danielson Framework components/expectations.

o   Fourth Grade:  will commence at 9:00 a.m. with Ms. Presto

·         Swim4Life: Class 2-409 1:00 p.m.

·         Staff PD and Faculty Conference will be conducted in the Powers’ Side gymnasium at 2:25 p.m. prompt.

·         Bronx Ensemble Theater Arts After-School Program:  2:20 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Teachers:  Please escort the selected students from your class into the auditorium as you are dismissing your students for the day.

·         Cheerleading and Basketball Practice in the Power’s side gymnasium: 2:20 p.m. – 4:20 p.m.
