It is my pleasure to share with you the Tier 1 PBIS Team: Mr. Mehno, Ms. Ray, Ms. Maltby, Ms. Presto, Ms. Cuevas, Ms. McMullen and Ms. Gonzalez. (picture coming soon) A special thank you to Elizabeth Sklerov for her presentation and support in this endeavor!! On Wednesday, 3/28/12, we spent an entire day at PACE Conference Center devoted to understanding the purpose, process and the plan for moving forward in the implementation of PBIS in our school community. Our team members worked diligently in addressing the social and emotional needs of all our children. We are currently completing the matrix for expectations in all spaces of our building. The team will be sharing the work with you shortly. We encourage all members of our MHA family to review the information and offer any suggestions that would improve our work. The premise behind PBIS is to support student expectations and behaviors in a positive manner throughout the day with a consistent and common language. Every teacher, paraprofessional, school aide, lunch assistant, custodial member, enrichment teacher, office member, administrator and visitor plays an important part in this initiative. It is crucial to stand strong as one united voice!!! Consistency is and will always be a major key to success. As always, I am extremely proud to be working side by side with colleagues who care and continue to explore new (and even sometimes old) strategies to help our students. :) Did you know that PBIS has 3 Tiers? We will be sending you information on the members of each team and the role they play in supporting students achievement, safety and growth. Have a wonderful day!!!! Week of April 2nd – 5th, 2012
